Peugeot Partner Light Commercial Vans LCVs...

Along with its PSA (Citroen and Peugeot's parent company) brother, the Berlingo, Peugeot's Partner received a major update for the 2003 model year. There's a revised front end with new grille and headlamp clusters, many improvements to the front-end crash protection, all-new cab and facia and detail changes to the suspension, just to mention a few.

A 1.9 litre indirect-injection capable of 70 bhp at 4,600rpm and a 2.0 litre HDi common rail turbo diesel which produces 90 bhp and develops 4 lb/ft of peak torque. The 1.9 is a good, solid workaday engine but the 2-litre HDi is a gem in about every department. It's powerful, refined and fuel efficient.

Ride and handling have improved over the previous Peugeot models.

The load area remains unchanged at 2.8m³ and sliding side doors (one or two) are available as options. Payload choice is 600kg or 800kg.

Two trim levels are available (L and LX), but the list of standard items on all models is impressive; power steering, driver's air bag, steering column remote control for the radio/cassette player (volume is speed-related) and a key transponder-activated immobiliser. Move up to LX and you get remote central locking, heated door mirrors, an additional power socket and load area side lining.

Servicing is required every 6,000 miles on the 1.91 and 12,000 miles for the HDi. The standard warranty is three years/60,000 miles.

Peugeot (and Citroen) has taken what was a good high-cube van and made it even better. The detail changes are welcome and bring Peugeot Partner right back on a par with the latest competition.
